Digging and Footers

With all the permitting finally completed, mid-December 2017 saw the much-awaited groundbreaking of the Sundogs B&B! Our builder J.C. Smith and the sub-contractor managed to dig / compact the foundation area and pour most of the footers before the big freeze starting on Christmas Day.

Opening day - and fun and relaxing times - are only months away!

Foundation wall

Basement wall forms were able to be set in place despite the historically cold weather. Pouring the concrete, however, would have to wait until temperatures warmed up a bit.

The walls were poured on January 10, 2018, and the forms removed the following day. On the 11th we also met with a rep from Potomac Edison to discuss where and how power will be brought onto the property.
